LED LIGHT
Our headboard lighting uses a dedicated driver box paired with a low-voltage LED system. The driver box converts mains power to a stable, safe low voltage specifically matched to the LED, helping to protect the light from power fluctuations that can shorten its lifespan. This is a stronger and more reliable approach than basic LEDs that plug straight into a simple step-down adaptor. Those cheaper systems often provide inconsistent voltage, which can lead to flickering, dimming or early failure. By using a matched driver and LED together, the light operates at the correct temperature, delivers smoother performance, and offers a longer service life — giving you consistent, dependable lighting built to last.
How to Use the LED Light
- Turn On: Touch and hold either silver switch located on the sides of the headboard. The LED light will turn on and gradually brighten to full intensity.
- Set Brightness: Release the switch at any point during this cycle to select your preferred brightness level. The light will stay at this setting.
- Dim the Light: To reduce brightness, touch and hold either switch again. The light will gradually dim. Release the switch once you reach your desired level.
- Turn Off: Touch either switch once more to dim the LED down to off.

About the Natural Characteristics of Oak
Oak is a genuine hardwood, valued for its strength, beauty, and timeless character. As a natural material, no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Each board carries its own grain patterns, tones, and markings — the hallmarks of real timber rather than a manufactured surface.
You may notice knots, natural colour variations, fine cracks, or the light-and-dark “tiger stripe” effect. These aren’t imperfections but authentic features formed as the tree grew. The “tiger stripe” or “ray flecking” appears when medullary rays, fine ribbons of fibre within the grain, are revealed, especially in quarter-sawn oak. This is a prized characteristic known for its shimmer and depth.
To minimise unnecessary timber wastage and to remain aligned with our environmental sustainability standards, some components may be made using laminated solid oak sections. This is a traditional woodworking technique where multiple pieces of solid oak are joined together to form a wider, stronger, and more stable panel. It prevents large portions of the log from being discarded, reduces cost pressure, and ensures better structural performance over time, especially on larger surfaces that naturally expand or contract.
Laminated solid sections are still real timber, simply used in a more responsible and efficient way.
These natural variations and construction methods are part of genuine oak furniture and contribute to the individuality of every piece. They highlight the authenticity of the timber and ensure each product is truly one-of-a-kind.
